Once upon a time, a German couple fell in love on an island called Mallorca and knew that someday their lives would end among olive and lemon trees, enjoying a different rhythm and receiving guests in their cozy home.
Said and done! That’s how Yvette and Georg decided to transform an old Majorcan mansion into a place where light, simplicity and comfort would welcome anyone who wanted to immerse themselves in an oasis of peace for a few days.
We designed 6 rooms, kitchen, dining room and hall where the common denominator was “feeling at home”. Selecting natural materials such as linen for curtains and bedding, or old wooden beams with which the craftsman of @rootsmallorca made much of the furniture in each room.
We rescued industrial lamps that the owners lovingly kept, to find the balance between the Mediterranean and the urban. We mixed wicker pieces with others in wood and metal, always seeking to convey the relaxed and fun essence of the owners. Yvette herself selected part of Axel Kentsch’s artwork to complete this charming project, where the important thing is to feel at home.
